It went down as the day of infamy for the men and women in the National Police Service as images of their unprecedented action make rounds, shocking many across the world.
Acting Inspector General Samuel Arachi was left cleaning up as he announced the suspension of an unnamed officer over the violent dispersal of children at the Langata Primary School.
But as NTV's Ken Mijungu reported, the suspension may well have come a little too late for a police service that had for a long been battling serious image problems.

Mystery surrounded the ownership of the land title of the Langata primary school playground. Court documents indicated a company named Airport Housing Limited but made no mention of the directors.
Lawyers acting for Weston Hotel which was associated with deputy president William Ruto said there was no link between Weston Hotel and the Langata Primary School playground.
But as NTV’s Sheila Sendeyo reported, the display of might at the disputed grounds indicated that this was no ordinary investor along Langata road.

Blogger Abraham Mutai spent the better part of the day at the DCI headquarters where he held discussions with police to assist in investigations over the accusations facing him.
Mutai, was accompanied by three lawyers, among them human rights lawyer Harun Ndubi. The lawyers say they did not know the exact charge preferred against Mutai and they were waiting for the police to compile information they had against Mutai and direct them on court proceedings if necessary.

The final play-offs of the women's basketball Premier was to be a repeat of 2014 when defending champions KPA took on rivals and 2014 finalists USIU Flames.
This was after The Flames won three consecutive games in the best of five Semi-final play-offs at the Nyayo Gymnasium.
The flames won game one 60-54 on Saturday, before making it 2-0 with a 61-43 win in game two played on Sunday.
They entered game three today afternoon looking for a win to advance to the finals, and that they achieved with 75-44 win over the bankers.
